Christian Yelich left last nights blowout 6-0 lose to the Cardinals with a strained right oblique. The severity of the injury is not known quite yet. But when it comes to baseball injuries, any oblique problem is usually serious. In an article posted in the Orthopedic Journal of Sports Medicine stated that for each oblique injury, players missed 22.2 days per injury. While the severity is still unknown if a DL stint is coming for Yelich, which I wouldn’t be surprised if there were. Look for Braun to get the majority of the time in LF, with a platoon of Thames and Aguilar back at 1st. A trip to the DL would also mean someone being called up from the minors, most likely a pitcher, with Woodruff returning to the rotation on Friday against the Cubs.
